Simulation of the behaviour of filters

Simulation of the behaviour of AmesPore® filters

Predicting the behaviour of a filter in service offers the possibility of designing a filtering installation with a high guarantee of success before it is built, and significantly reduces the number of validation tests of the product prior to its commissioning.

AMES offers its customers a filter simulation service based on specifically designed software. This program works with a mathematical model of the filtering process of AmesPore® sintered filters designed jointly with the University of Barcelona, and an experimental validation of the mathematical model made at AMES using the characterization means described on the previous page. This tool can be used to vary the parameters related to the filtration process (fluid type, flow rate, pressure, type, size and concentration of particles, admissible load loss, etc.) and obtain a response that closely approximates the actual behaviour of the filter.

AMES is thus able to calculate filtration installations tailored specifically to the customer’s needs at a minimum cost, and to predict the life of the filter without the need for expensive validation tests.
